Multiple Machine Backups

Arcamatic makes it really simple to back up multiple directories on a remote machine to a local machine, or vice versa. It is common to have one or more virtual machines that has an application server that you would like to backup to a local machine which then gets backed up.

In this scenario, you might configure multiple Arcamatic Clients to backup directories from different machines (virtual or otherwise) to a single Arcamatic Server (see image below). Note that the configuration shown below would entail each of the Aramatic Client instances having set the Base Directory to C:\Data\mydir1 and the Arcamatic Server set the Base Directory to C:\Backup. The Arcamatic Server will automatically place the directories under the IP address of the client when files are received, so you won't see these if you were to inspect the base directory before a backup has taken place.
